- Attendance is expected at all meetings with a minimum of 5 per school year (either am or pm)
- (meetings are not just for attendance purposes; we use them to complete components of our annual service projects)
- Meetings take place on the 1st Thursday of each month and will last 30 minutes, you may not leave early from ANY meeting before the club is dismissed!
- (7:40-8:10 A.M. or 3:40-4:10 P.M. in the theater)—afternoon location subject to change so please check reminders
Dates: 9/5, 10/3, 11/7, 12/5, 1/9, 2/6, 3/5, 4/2, 5/7*Same day as NHS
*Induction of new members will be held at our morning meeting on 1/9 - Any member not actively participating in the community service project during the meeting, may be asked to leave. This meeting will not be counted towards their required number of meetings for the year.
- 3.5 or higher GPA
- One semester of probation is allowed one time if GPA drops below 3.5
- No OSS (out-of-school suspension) infractions, ISS (in-school suspension) infractions may be grounds for removal from the club
- 10 hours of community service completed by 5/1/19
- Service hours must be voluntary, no payment of any kind for services may be accepted. Service hours must not be an event or responsibility that is required from another sport or club.
- If you choose to tutor, it must be done through an approved school program (HHS, LMS, Still, Dowell)
- Hours served for one club may not count toward another club (i.e. 1 hour of service cannot count for both NHS and Beta)
- No hours carry over from one year to the next, but summer hours can count toward the following school year
- A picture of the SIGNED service form must be uploaded to your x2VOL account to document hours and the activity contact for the service activity must be documented when creating each personal project on x2VOL, in order for your hours to be verified and approved—see Beta blog linked to Mrs. John’s blog (https://johnbio.weebly.com/beta-club) or under the Beta Club tab on the Hillgrove website
- Yearly dues paid and contract returned by 11/1/19: $25 new members / $15 returning members. You can pay on mypaymentplus (parents should get an email to pay the Beta fee), exact cash, or check made payable to Hillgrove High School.
- MOWR/Dual Enrollment & Early Graduation Requirements
- All students participating in MOWR/Dual Enrollment or who have graduated early are allowed on campus and expected to attend all club meetings to fulfill their requirements
- All students must attend a minimum of 5 yearly meetings unless:
- MOWR or early graduates enrolled in college classes that meet in both AM and PM time slots that conflict with Beta meetings
- Students must provide documentation of enrollment and exact class schedule as soon as possible, but no later than 2/1/20
- If enrolled in classes that conflict with both AM & PM meetings for one semester, then you must attend a minimum of 3 Beta meetings for the year
- If enrolled in classes that conflict with both AM & PM meetings for both semesters, then your meeting requirement may be waived
- If enrolled in classes at a university out of state for one semester, then you must attend a minimum of 3 Beta meetings for the year
- If enrolled in classes at a university out of state for both semesters, then your meeting requirement may be waived
- Early graduates hired for full-time employment of 40 or more hours per week
- See a Beta advisor as soon as hired
- MOWR or early graduates enrolled in college classes that meet in both AM and PM time slots that conflict with Beta meetings

Hillgrove High School Beta Club By-LawsStudents agree to meet the minimum requirements outlined in the Beta contract in order to maintain active membership in Beta Club. Failure to meet any of the requirements outlined on the Beta contract will result in permanent revocation of membership. Archives
